The Concept, in close cooperation with the V1NG and the Education Board, was developed between 6thOctober 2016 and 6th December 2016. PROJECT SOLUTIONS AND RESULTS The concept was developed on the basis of an in-depth analysis of the current situation, in which semi-structured interviews with the interested parties and local government specialists were carried out. Data was collected and analysed with the aim of evaluating the performance indicators and trends of the previous V1NG, educational programs and their development directions, as well as their linkage with the development directions defined by the Education Board of Ventspils City Council and Ventspils University College. |
Current situation analysis also included V1NG opportunities of attracting new students and V1NG infrastructure assessment. Within the framework of assessing the opportunities of attracting new students to V1NG, a forecast of the current number and changes in count of – children, school age youth and the number of talented and gifted children was made. The evaluation of the infrastructure of V1NG included occupancy (space area, maximum permissible number of students per room during classes, actual fulfilment of V1NG classes), suitability of study premises for a modern study process and analysis of development scenarios, as well as development of a matrix of study subjects and the designated classroom spaces. Basing on the gathered information, three possible development scenarios were developed, which were then evaluated and compared by common criteria. |
